The first yearling has lambed. Dodgie had a big, well fed, clean and dry ram lamb snuggled up with her this AM when I checked the barn. She jumped up, placed herself crosswise in front of him, and glared at me when I went in to check him. Perfect mom. She stood close by while I dipped his navel in iodine, and sniffed him over carefully when I finished. None of the other yearlings are bothering her, and its a lovely, sunny morning (26 degrees-headed for 54) so we'll just leave them with the flock. Hope we have 14 more just like her! Well, maybe some ewe lambs tossed in there.....
