Somerhill Farm
Bluefaced Leicester Sheep, French and Satin Angora Rabbits
Entry for May 23, 2008
Darcy (the moaner from a post a couple weeks ago) had a ram lamb yesterday, sometime in the PM. I found them when I went down to feed the bunnies in the evening. She is doing fine with him. So that is the last lamb from the yearlings.

Tonight, I think Clio is in labor. She did not come to eat grain, and is looking sunken in and starting to lose her mucous plug. Today is the first day the last12 BFL ewes are due.

Tomorrow I will take a ram lamb up to Wooster to meet a buyer. I'll take in the Great Lakes wool festival while I am there. Maybe I'll find something wonderful that I just have to have!

I forgot to mention - I sheared the 2 yearling rams today.  One of them is headed for Illinois in a couple weeks and was still wearing his winter duds.   I did not have any trouble with them, but Chuck got the top of a very hard head right in the mouth while he was helping me get them haltered and tied so I could shear.   I hope the neighbors think it was me who gave him a fat lip.....that will set Hoskinsville a-twitter!  :^)
