Somerhill Farm
Bluefaced Leicester Sheep, French and Satin Angora Rabbits
Entry for September 2, 2008

This is some novelty yarn I spun up yesterday.  The base is Black Welsh Mountain lambswool from a friend (thanks, Andrea).   I spun it in a medium fne single.  Then I plied it back on itself, but with a twist. Oops - pardon the pun!

I layed Bluefaced Leicester locks in between the 2 threads of BWM as I plied, allowing the locks to twist and curl as they liked.     The BFL locks are dyed a blend of hot pink/orange/yellow.

I think it would make a terrific hat, or I picture a dark brown/black sweater with a shawl neckline made with this yarn.

I will definitely be doing this again - what fun!
