Entry for September 8, 2008
You'll never guess what happened to me today.................. I was at the fairgrounds, finishing up the inside display at the SWCD conservation area. Then I watered the flowers we'd just planted, filled the fish pond, and generally straightened up. My last act was to climb up the slope and plug in the pump that runs the waterfall. As I plugged it in, I noticed a group of kids running past, and heard someone behind me yell - "Keep him along the fence!" Then a sudden "SNORT" and WHAMMO! I went flying into the waterfall and mulch, facedown. Then the water started running out of the waterfall. Not my best day......... As it turned out, a steer had gotten loose from the barn, and came up behind me and ran me down. I found out later it charged other people, and after getting loose a second time and running through the town, it was finally caught and taken home. Thankfully, other than several bruises, a scrape over one eye, I am fine. And quite the celebrity at the fair as "the woman who went flying". I've laminated a Caution, cattle crossing sign, and plan to install it at the top of the waterfall tomorrow. HEHE 2008-09-08 23:57:45 GMT
